47 arrested over suspected fraud activities in Benin City

Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on Tuesday, apprehended 47 suspected internet fraudsters at different locations in Benin City, Edo State.

According to a statement by EFCC, the suspects were arrested following credible intelligence that linked them to fraudulent internet activities.

The statement enunciates, “Items recovered from them at the point of arrest included five exotic cars, smartphones and laptop computers.

“They would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
