70-year-old man arrested for defiling five-year-old girl in Oyo

The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a 70-year-old man who defiled a five-year-old girl.
This was made known in a post by the state command on Saturday via its X (formally Twitter) handle.
The state command in the post advised parents to be careful with whom they trust with their children’s well-being, noting that sexual predators are on the rise.
The post reads, “Sexual predators are on the increase. Parents/guardians be extra careful with those you entrust the welfare of your children/wards.
“This 70-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the defilement of a minor (5yrs). He will be prosecuted accordingly.”
Dailyeconomy on July 15 reported that the Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin said emotional approach to minor defilement may lead to court case dismissal.
