Bournemouth condemned Manchester United to a humiliating 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford on Sunday, leaving Michael Carrick’s side without a win in eight matches and intensifying pressure on the manager.
Rayan opened the scoring in the 38th minute, volleying in Justin Kluivert’s free-kick, before Marcus Tavernier made it 2-0 in the 43rd minute after Leny Yoro slipped and Adrien Truffert set up an easy finish.
Evanilson completed the rout in the 71st minute, beating goalkeeper Senne Lammens to a long ball and finishing into an empty net.
United captain Bruno Fernandes was left on the bench for the entire match by Carrick, a decision that backfired as the hosts produced another disjointed and error-prone display.
Home supporters voiced their frustration with boos at full-time, while chants directed at the club’s owners and Carrick rang around Old Trafford during the defeat.
The result leaves United 16th in the Premier League with just seven points from eight games, only one point above the relegation zone.
Their winless run now stands at eight matches in all competitions.
United have also conceded seven goals across their last two matches, underlining defensive frailties that Bournemouth repeatedly exploited through individual mistakes from Yoro, Ayden Heaven and Lammens.
For Bournemouth, it was a fourth straight win in all competitions and their third 3-0 victory at Old Trafford in four seasons.
The Cherries moved to nine points after eight league games.
The defeat leaves Carrick’s future in serious doubt, with reports describing the manager as being on the brink after a performance that exposed both tactical uncertainty and a divided dressing room.
