Video: Alaafin of Oyo visits Tinubu at Aso Villa

On Friday, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade I, met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

This meeting took place shortly after President Tinubu’s discussion with security leaders regarding the nation’s security issues.

Dailyeconomy had early reported that Oba Owoade I was announced as the new Alaafin of Oyo in January 2025, succeeding the late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III as the 46th Alaafin.

However, his visit to President Tinubu marks his first meeting with the President following his coronation on April 5, 2025.

Also present during the meeting were the Alaafin’s wife, Abiwumi Owoade; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; and the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammed Idris, among others.
