The Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, has been inducted as an Honorary Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Medical Sciences during this year’s Induction Ceremony, recognising his commitment to advancing medical science and education in Nigeria.

In his remarks on X, Dr Alausa stated, “It was my honour to join the Nigerian Academy of Medical Sciences for this year’s Induction Ceremony — a gathering of some of our nation’s finest minds dedicated to advancing medical science, research, and national well-being.”

He expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing it as “a profound honour, and I accept it with humility and a renewed sense of responsibility,” adding that it “strengthens my resolve to continue working — through education — to build the kind of strong, knowledge-driven health system our nation deserves.”

Highlighting the alignment between the Academy’s mission and government reforms, Alausa emphasised ongoing efforts under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda: “By expanding medical training capacity, strengthening research institutions, upgrading teaching hospitals, and widening STEMM pathways for young Nigerians, we are laying a sustainable foundation for world-class medical education and healthcare delivery.”

He concluded with a call for continued collaboration: “I look forward to deepening our partnership with the Academy as we continue to invest in knowledge, nurture talent, and build a healthier, more secure and more prosperous Nigeria.”

Addressing newly inducted Fellows, he saluted “your service and dedication to humanity” while congratulating the Academy and all its new members for their achievements.
