Amorim reveals why he benches Ahmad

Manchester United Manager, Ruben Amorim has explained his decision to bench Amad Diallo and start Alejandro Garnacho in his side’s FA Cup third round tie against Arsenal on Sunday evening.

Ahmad, who has been impressive for the United in recent weeks, was a surprised omission from the starting XI.

Speaking to the media, Amorim said he didn’t start Ahmad because the player had a small issue during the week.

Amorim, thereby, stated that Garnacho deserved to start because he is playing well for United.

He said, “Amad had a small issue during the week and that’s why he didn’t start.

“I like the way Ale Garnacho plays, he is playing well and he deserves to start.

“The way he is training, we felt it was a good opportunity to see Garnacho start the game.”
