Early results from Amatutu village in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area, Anambra State reveal a surprising lead for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the polling unit where former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi voted.
At Polling Unit 019, APC secured 73 votes, surpassing Obi’s Labour Party with 57 votes and APGA’s 38.
This unexpected outcome has drawn attention given Obi’s strong influence in the area, traditionally a Labour Party and APGA stronghold.
Analysts highlight the impact of APC’s running mate, Senator Uche Ekwunife, a native of the area, as a possible factor in the party’s gains.
Similar trends emerged at other polling units in Amatutu, with APC consistently leading over both LP and APGA.
