Real Madrid Manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has endorsed Vinicius Junior as his choice to win the Ballon d’Or this year, ahead of teammates Dani Carvajal and Jude Bellingham.

Ancelotti in a podcast interview applauded Vinicius’ world-class performances and stressed the 23-year-old Brazilian’s exceptional form and status make him a leading candidate for the 2024 Ballon d’Or.

He said, “When he plays like this and with this attitude, he is the best in the world, in my personal opinion.”

The Italian manager also highlighted Bellingham’s quality, comparing him to Zinedine Zidane, while naming Carvajal, Messi and Bellingham as other contenders for the prestigious award.

“Carvajal also did really well, he won La Liga, and the Champions League and scored in the final, won the Euros.

“But Vinicius is a talented player, young, good image, won La Liga, won the Champions League scoring in the final and semi-final. He scored two in Munich!

“Bellingham had a fantastic season. Winning the Champions League, winning the league, and it was a big surprise. The best player of the league season.

“Rodri also is a fantastic midfielder, one of the best midfielders in the competition, and consistent.”

The Ballon d’Or is an annual football award presented by French magazine France Football in 1956 to honour the player believed to have performed the best over the previous season.
