The Nigerian Army has announced a series of decisive victories across the country in the last 48 hours as part of intensified operations ordered by Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu NAM.
In a Sunday statement, the Army said, “In line with the marching orders of the Chief of Army (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu NAM, to completely annihilate terrorists and dismantle all networks of criminality, troops of the Nigerian Army have intensified their nationwide offensive operations, recording decisive victories across multiple theatres within the last 48 hours.”
Following the COAS’ recent operational visit to the North East Theatre aimed at boosting troop morale, the Army has sustained relentless pressure on terrorist and criminal groups, resulting in the neutralisation of seven terrorists, the arrest of 27 suspects, and the recovery of arms, ammunition, and stolen crude oil products.
According to the statement, in North East Borno State, Sector 3 Operation HADIN KAI arrested 12 suspects tied to terror logistics during a cordon-and-search in Monguno.
The 192 Battalion ambushed insurgents, killing three terrorists and capturing an AK-47 rifle.
Troops in Damboa neutralised a terrorist infiltrator attempting reconnaissance.
In Kaduna and Plateau in the North West and North Central, Operation ENDURING PEACE eliminated two insurgents responsible for civilian attacks and arrested four suspects linked to murders in Riyom.
Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Niger State killed a terrorist scout and seized operational equipment.
In the South-South region, anti-economic sabotage efforts led to arrests of illegal black sand miners in Akwa Ibom, the discovery of illegal crude oil refining sites in Abia and Imo States, and the capture of suspects including an impostor in military camouflage in Delta State.
The Army underscored its renewed combat posture, stating, “These coordinated and simultaneous strikes across the country reaffirm the Nigerian Army’s revitalized combat posture and renewed determination under Lieutenant General Shaibu’s leadership to take the fight to the enemy’s doorstep and destroy all threats to national security.”
The statement concluded with a call for public support: “The public is enjoined to continue supporting military operations by providing credible and timely information, as we intensify efforts to end insecurity and reclaim every inch of national space from criminal elements.”
