Troops of the 12 Brigade Nigerian Army have successfully rescued two kidnapped victims and recovered ₦3.8 million ransom money in Kogi State, the Army announced on X.
According to the statement, the operation occurred on November 2, 2025, following “credible intelligence on kidnapping activities along the Itobe–Adumu–Ejule axis.” Acting swiftly, soldiers deployed from Forward Operating Base Oguma moved to intercept the bandits in Achigili Forest.
The troops “came under fire from the criminals” but responded with superior firepower, causing the bandits to abandon the victims and ransom money before fleeing wounded.
The Army confirmed that the rescued victims were “immediately debriefed to aid further operations,” while the recovered ransom was returned to them.
Lieutenant Hassan Abdullahi, Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations of 12 Brigade, emphasised the Army’s commitment: “The Nigerian Army remains resolute and unwavering in its determination to protect lives and property.” He urged the public to “support the military and other security agencies by providing timely and credible information” to help combat crime in the state.
