Asake discloses reason for featuring Wizkid in his album

Afrobeats singer and songwriter, Ahmed Ololade, musically known as Asake, disclosed that he featured Ibrahim Balogun well known as Wizkid on the first track of his new album ‘Lungu Boy’ because he has been a major inspiration for him as a young musician in Lagos.

Asake dropped his third studio album on Friday, August 9. The album consists of 13 tracks featuring Stormzy, Travis Scott, Central Cee, Ludmilla and Wizkid.

The first track of the album titled MMS featuring Wizkid has been widely praised by fans for addictive delivery.

Asake in a note for the music stated that the ‘MMS’ stands for ‘Mr Money Sound’ emphasising that the meaning defines his music journey.

He wrote, “It’s no secret that Wizkid is one of my music inspirations. As a young striving artiste in Lagos, I’ve been waiting for that right song so when the opportunity came it was a no brainer.

“‘MMS’ stands for ‘Mr Money Sound’ and it explains my music journey.”
