The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspended its two-week warning strike, allowing academic activities to resume in federal universities from Thursday.
This followed an emergency meeting in Abuja and negotiations with a government delegation led by Alhaji Yayale Ahmed, supported by the Senate Committees on Education and Labour, Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin, and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
ASUU has issued a one-month ultimatum to the Federal Government to meet outstanding demands, including unpaid salaries, promotion arrears, earned academic allowances, and the renegotiation of the 2009 agreement, warning that failure to comply will trigger an indefinite strike.
