BAGASOO harmonises aviation regulations

The 7th Meeting of the BAGASOO Technical Committee on Regulations (TCR-07), has commenced on Monday, and will continue until March 28, 2025, at the Radisson Blu in Ikeja, Lagos, bringing together aviation regulators and stakeholders to promote consistent aviation regulations among member states.
The Director General of the NCAA, Capt. Chris Najomo, officially opened the meeting and emphasised the committee’s crucial role in standardising regulations, guidance materials, and safety standards.
This was obtained in a post shared on the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority social media handle on Monday.
Najomo highlighted the necessity of a unified regulatory framework to facilitate the mutual recognition of licenses, certificates, and approvals, as outlined in Article 33 of the Chicago Convention.
The BAGASOO Executive Director, Ms. Jailza Silva, in her welcome address, reaffirmed the organisation’s dedication to enhancing regional aviation safety.
She underscored the significance of aligning national laws, improving efficiency, and equipping all member states with the resources necessary to meet international standards, regardless of their size.
The post reads in a part, “The five-day meeting, is expected to produce a more comprehensive harmonization strategy to ensure no country is left behind in the pursuit of safer and more efficient air transport regulations.”
