The Oyo State Police Command on Sunday sent out a humorous and cautionary message to football fans.
Taking to X the Command wrote, “It’s another Premier League Weekend. Please bant with moderation and you notice it is getting too hot in the kitchen, leave Biko. It’s a good time for Hot Amala…any options about the soup and protein?”
The playful tone, mixing popular slang with a cultural nod to “Hot Amala” — a beloved Nigerian dish — seeks to remind football enthusiasts to keep their rivalries friendly and avoid escalating tensions.
The phrase “leave Biko” (meaning “please leave”) serves as a gentle warning to those whose banter might become too intense.
The message also provided the Control Room number, 08081768614, urging the public to reach out if things do get “too hot” and help is needed.
