Bayer Leverkusen’s sporting director, Simon Rolfes, has officially confirmed that Nigerian striker, Victor Boniface will not be joining Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.
According to the football transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Rolfes emphasised Boniface’s comfort and unchanged attitude towards the club.
Rolfes was quoted saying, “There have been talks, but we are happy that he will be training with us today. I assume that he will stay.
“He feels comfortable here, his attitude towards the club is unchanged.”
The anticipated transfer fell through as Al Nassr opted to sign Aston Villa forward Jhon Duran for a significant €77 million deal instead.
Despite initial negotiations and a Saudi delegation in Germany to finalise terms, the club decided against completing Boniface’s transfer, leaving him to continue his career at Leverkusen.
