Birthday celebrant, DJ, others arrested for blocking traffic in Lagos

The operatives of the Lagos State Government have arrested five individuals including the birthday celebrant for obstructing traffic and creating an environmental nuisance.
The suspects were according to a statement on Monday by the State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, arrested on Saturday, October 19.
Wahab noted the birthday celebrant, musician, event planner, sound engineer and vendor, were apprehended for blocking Raymond Njoku Road in the Southwest, Ikoyi area of Lagos State while celebrating a birthday anniversary.
He asserted that they will be tried in court in accordance with the laws of the State.
He wrote, “On Saturday, 19th October, 2024, the Lagos State Government arrested individuals, including the celebrant, event planner, musician, and others, for obstructing traffic and creating an environmental nuisance.
“The individuals arrested are: Omolara Ajetumobi – Event Planner, Ogundare Olubunmi – Celebrant, Ayodele Busuyi – Musician, Owoeye Adedayo – Sound Engineer, Akinola Akinkunmi – Vendor.
“The suspects were arrested for blocking Raymond Njoku Road in Southwest, Ikoyi during a birthday celebration. They will be tried in court in accordance with the laws of the State.”
However, he restated that nobody is above the state law, stating the State will not allow anyone to disregard its laws and regulations.
“The Lagos State Government reiterates that no one is above the law and will not be permitted to disregard State regulations,” Wahab said.
