During President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to Brazil, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, held a pivotal meeting with his Brazilian counterpart, Gabriel Muricca Galípolo, President of the Central Bank of Brazil.
The meeting took place at the Bank of Brazil Headquarters in Brasília, marking a significant step in international monetary cooperation.
In an official statement on Saturday via X, the CBN highlighted that beyond this high-level engagement, a dedicated CBN delegation undertook a comprehensive working visit with the Brazilian Central Bank on August 27–28.
These sessions allowed for “substantive discussions on monetary policy, financial stability, and technical cooperation,” underscoring the importance of robust dialogue between the two institutions.
The CBN emphasised that these collaborations aim to “foster knowledge-sharing and deepen institutional ties,” reflecting its “commitment to strengthening international partnerships and advancing long-term value for Nigeria’s economy.”
