Manchester United midfielder, Casemiro has reaffirmed his decision to leave the club as a free agent when his contract expires in June 2026, dismissing any suggestions of a U-turn despite a recent uptick in form.
In an exclusive interview with The Athletic, the Brazilian star emphasised the plan’s finality.
“My final games at Man United will be emotional,” Casemiro said, signaling his readiness for a new chapter after three challenging years at Old Trafford.
Signed from Real Madrid in 2022 for £60 million, Casemiro played a pivotal role in United’s 2023 Carabao Cup triumph under Erik ten Hag.
However, persistent injuries and fan backlash during a tough 2025 season paved the way for his departure, which will free up over £350,000 in weekly wages and squad space under current manager Michael Carrick.
Speculation swirls around potential moves, including MLS giants Inter Miami and LA Galaxy—offering high salaries and a less grueling schedule—or a European return to AC Milan, where he could link up again with former Real Madrid teammate Luka Modric.
