In a statement shared on Wednesday via his official X handle, Cardoso said, “The CBN also hosted a strategic fintech session with Nigerian founders and investors, themed ‘Shaping the Future of Fintech in Nigeria: Innovation, Inclusion, and Integrity’.”

The session brought together fintech leaders, investors, and policymakers during the Annual Meetings, providing a platform “to listen, learn, and collaborate in a closed-door setting.”

Cardoso emphasised the importance of fintechs as “ambassadors of our nation’s creativity, resilience, and global relevance.”

He added, “Engaging them as partners ensures that Nigeria’s digital financial future is built on the right anchors.”

Key discussion topics included responsible innovation and growth, infrastructure and interoperability, legal and policy frameworks, compliance, financial integrity, and market confidence.

“Our commitment at the CBN is to create an environment where new ideas can flourish under prudent oversight; where innovation, integrity, and inclusion move hand in hand,” Cardoso concluded.
