China assures increasing investment in Nigeria

The China Minister Counsellor, Wang Yingzi has expressed commitment to increasing investments in Nigeria during a meeting with the Minister of Finance and Coordinating, Wale Edun on Friday.

The Ministry of Finance in the brief of the meeting made available on its verified X (formally Twitter) stated that Edun hosted a delegation from the Chinese Embassy which was led by Yingzi over the forthcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation that will be held in September.

Yingzi in the meeting also promised continued support from Chinese financial institutions.

However, Edun according to the post, welcomed the partnership, emphasising the importance of Chinese investments in promoting economic growth, job creation, and poverty alleviation across the nation.

The post reads, “HM Wale Edun, hosted a delegation from the Chinese Embassy led by Minister Counsellor Wang Yingzi.

“The meeting focused on next month’s Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and explored strengthening Nigeria-China relations.

“Minister Counsellor Wang expressed China’s commitment to increasing investments in Nigeria and he pledged continued support from Chinese financial institutions. The Honourable Minister welcomed this partnership, highlighting the importance of Chinese investments in promoting economic growth, job creation, and poverty alleviation across the nation.”
