Lagos, Nigeria: Coca-Cola Nigeria has reignited one of its most beloved global campaigns with the official relaunch of Share A Coke (SAC) in Lagos on October 23, 2025, marking the triumphant return of a cultural movement that has inspired millions around the world. Staying true to its promise, the brand made sure that this year’s campaign was Big, Bold, and Better, bringing together over 1,500 influencers, content creators, media professionals, brand partners, and Coca-Cola fans for an unforgettable celebration of sharing, personalization, and community.

A statement from the company today said the high-energy Lagos launch transformed the venue into a vibrant hub of creativity, joy, and connection. The event featured an electrifying lineup of some of Nigeria’s finest musical talents, including Wande Coal, Odumodu Blvck, Falz, Shoday, FOLA, Ayo Maff, Aniko, DJ Shawn, Maze x Mxtreme, Rybeena, and other incredible performers who lit up the stage with dazzling performances that embodied the spirit of Nigerian youth and cultural pride.

Guests were treated to a fully immersive brand experience that brought the essence of Share A Coke to life. The event’s interactive customization zones allowed attendees to personalize Coca-Cola cans with their names or those of loved ones, creating meaningful souvenirs that captured the campaign’s message of connection and individuality. Around the venue, creative photo and content spaces encouraged fans to capture moments of laughter, joy, and belonging: images that quickly spread across social media platforms under the hashtag #ShareACokeNG.

Adding a unique cultural twist, Coca-Cola unveiled an exclusive Coca-Cola x WAF (West African Fashion) merchandise collection, celebrating the fusion of global brand heritage with local Gen Z creativity and style. This collaboration underscored Coca-Cola’s commitment to celebrating Nigerian youth culture while connecting with the next generation in authentic and exciting ways.

Speaking at the launch, Mariam Khan, General Manager of Coca-Cola Nigeria, described Share A Coke as “the return of the most loved campaign for Gen Zs.” She said, “This campaign is more than just names on bottles—it’s about creating real connections. When you hand someone a Coke with their name on it, you’re giving them something deeply personal: their identity, their moment, and their story. That’s what makes Share A Coke so special.”

The event also featured a digital innovation where attendees could scan QR codes on specially marked bottles to generate personalized “Share A Coke Memory” digital keepsakes. This seamless blend of nostalgia and technology showcased Coca-Cola’s ability to evolve with its audience while preserving the emotional bond that defines its brand.

Yusuf Murtala, Senior Director and Head of Marketing at Coca-Cola Nigeria, highlighted the campaign’s strategic role in reconnecting the brand with younger audiences. “We’re reintroducing a campaign with global heritage and giving it a modern Nigerian pulse,” he explained. “By combining personalization, digital interactivity, and community storytelling, we’re creating experiences that people want to share, not just products they want to buy.”

Valerie Odubogun, Director of Frontline Marketing at Coca-Cola Nigeria, emphasized the brand’s focus on authenticity and engagement. “Our goal is to ensure that Share A Coke resonates at every touchpoint, from retail shelves to social spaces,” she said. “It’s about sparking conversations, creating smiles, and celebrating the joy that comes from sharing a Coke with someone you care about.”

Beyond the Lagos celebration, Coca-Cola announced that the excitement will continue nationwide with a special consumer promotion running from October 31 to December 31, 2025, giving Nigerians a chance to win millions of naira in cash prizes, airtime vouchers, and other rewards. To participate, consumers simply need to purchase a personalized 50cl Coca-Cola bottle with a Nigerian name, check under the crown for a unique code, and enter it on the campaign’s platform to find out if they’ve won. Weekly prizes include cash rewards of up to ₦1,000,000, along with instant airtime vouchers ranging from ₦100 to ₦1,000, and other exciting giveaways.

Originally launched globally more than a decade ago, Share A Coke became one of the most defining marketing movements of its time by replacing the iconic Coca-Cola logo with popular first names on bottles and cans. In Nigeria, the campaign captured hearts and inspired millions of shared moments, strengthening emotional ties between the brand and its consumers. Its return in 2025 marks a renewed commitment by Coca-Cola Nigeria to celebrate individuality, foster connection, and create moments of happiness that bring people together.

“As we relaunch this iconic campaign, we’re not just reintroducing a product experience; we’re reviving a movement,” Mariam Khan concluded. “Share A Coke is about joy, connection, and community. We want every bottle shared to represent a story, a smile, and a moment that brings people closer together.”
