Contributory pension assets rose to N 20.87tn in July

Total assets under the Contributory Pension Scheme rose to N20.87tn as of the end of July.

Figures obtained by Daily Economy from the National Pension Commission from its report titled, ‘Unaudited report on pension funds industry portfolio for the period ended 31 July 2024; Approved Existing Schemes, Closed Pension Fund Administrators and RSA Funds (Including unremitted contributions @CBN & Legacy Funds)’, revealed on Sunday.

According to the figures, the bulk of the assets totaling N13.18tn was invested in FGN securities.

Other portfolio where the pension operators invested the assets are in money market instruments, and mutual funds.
