Cornerstone Insurance MD, Stephen Alangbo elected as Member of NIA Governing Council

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Cornerstone Insurance Plc, Mr. Stephen Alangbo, has been elected into the Governing Council of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), the apex body representing all insurance and reinsurance companies in Nigeria.
His election took place during the NIA’s recent Annual General Meeting held in Lagos on Wednesday.
Alangbo is no stranger to leadership within the association, having previously served as Chairman of the Life Offices Committee (LOC) of the NIA and later being co-opted as a Council Member.
With over 30 years of industry experience, he stands out as a seasoned insurance professional whose career reflects a legacy of leadership and excellence.
Alangbo was nominated for the African Insurance Award in the CEO Category in 2020, a testament to his significant contributions to the industry. His vast expertise spans both local and international markets, including his tenure as Managing Director of ARM Life Plc.
He has also represented the sector at the African Insurance Organization (AIO), where he facilitated discussions on Life Assurance across the West African region. His outstanding contributions have earned him multiple awards, solidifying his reputation as a respected figure in the insurance community.
Alangbo holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics with Statistics from the University of Lagos and an MBA from ESUT Business School, Enugu. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN).
