Real Madrid goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois has shown remarkable sportsmanship by sending a private Instagram message to Tottenham Hotspur’s young shot-stopper, Antonin Kinsky following his error-strewn performance in Tuesday’s Champions League match against Atlético Madrid.

Kinsky endured a difficult night at the Wanda Metropolitano, where he conceded multiple goals amid defensive lapses.

Courtois, a former Atlético player himself, offered words of encouragement, drawing from his own experiences.

“I sent an Instagram DM to Tottenham’s goalkeeper Kinsky, because what happened to him was tough, it’s hard mentally,” Courtois said.

He didn’t shy away from the venue’s challenges either, stating, “Atletico’s pitch causes problems for every team.”

Courtois elaborated, “I told Antonin Kinsky as I also made mistakes at Atlético and I made mistakes at Chelsea! I also got nutmegged twice by Messi. I have told him that he has to learn from this, life is hard but he has to remain confident, that’s the way.”

The Belgian veteran highlighted the unique pressures of the position, “The goalkeeper position is super vulnerable. When we make mistakes, it’ll end up in a goal. I ask Tottenham to support him and all his teammates as well.”
