Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a further reduction in the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, from N865 to N835 per litre, effective Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
This marks the second price cut within a week and the third in under six weeks, reflecting the refinery’s commitment to making fuel more affordable for Nigerians.
The Dangote Refinery Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, in a statement on Wednesday, stated, “Dangote Petroleum Refinery is pleased to announce this reduction, reaffirming our commitment to providing high-quality petrol at affordable rates, benefiting consumers across the nation”.
The new retail prices across regions will be:
• Lagos (key partners like MRS, AP, Heyden): N890 per litre, down from N920
• South-West: N900 per litre, down from N930
• North-West and North-Central: N910 per litre, down from N940
• South-East, South-South, and North-East: N920 per litre, down from N950.
Chiejina added, “We anticipate that this latest reduction in PMS prices will generate a positive ripple effect throughout various sectors of the economy, providing much-needed relief to consumers and contributing to broader economic growth, particularly during the Easter season”.
However, Dangote Refinery continues to ensure steady supply with sufficient reserves to meet domestic demand and export surplus, urging marketers and distributors to source products from the refinery to maximize nationwide benefits from these price reductions.
