A special Islamic funeral prayer, known as Salatul Ga’ib, was conducted in Kano on Saturday to honour the late business tycoon and philanthropist, Aminu Dantata, who died at the age of 94 in Dubai on Saturday.

The ceremony, held at the Umar Bin Khattab Mosque in the Kano metropolis, was led by Ibrahim Khalil, the Chairman of the Kano State Council of Ulamas.

Thousands of mourners attended the event, including prominent figures such as Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin.

In accordance with his wishes, Dantata is set to be buried next to his late wife in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
