Davido drags Osun CP over state’s political crisis

Afrobeat celeb David Adeleke, alias Davido, has publicly lambasted the Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Abba, over the ongoing political crisis in the State.

Osun, under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is Davido’s uncle, is experiencing increased tensions between the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress.

The conflict arises from former local government chairmen, who were elected under the APC, trying to regain their positions despite court orders ousting them from office.

However, Governor Adeleke held a press conference last weekend, urging President Bola Tinubu to intervene and restrain his Minister, Gboyega Oyetola, from allegedly using security forces to reinstate the sacked chairmen.

He underscored that any grievances should be addressed through legal appeals rather than forceful takeovers.

The situation escalated on Monday, February 17, 2025, as gunfire erupted across several local government secretariats when the dismissed chairmen and their supporters attempted to reclaim their offices, facing stiff resistance from PDP members.

Amid the disarray, Davido took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to call out the Osun State police chief, accusing him of failing to uphold the rule of law.

In a series of strongly worded posts, written in a mix of English and Pidgin, Davido lashed out at the commissioner, warning him against biased actions.

He wrote, “Mr Commissioner, respect the rule of law!!! You are not madder or crazier than us!! Make we all kuru mad!! MEN MOUNT WALAI TO KRF!!! I will post you every day everywhere, Mr man!!! Try me, fucker.”

In a different post, he said, “Mr Umar Abba, Osun State Commissioner, you are a disgrace to your children!!! Game on, FUCKER!!!! All of us go mad together!! Werey!!! Mr Commissioner, we die here.”

However, Davido’s remarks have gear up several reactions with his fans praising him while some lambasting him for his contribution in politics tagging him as “Immature”.

“You are not even in osun state but you know what’s happening there. Bro your uncle will not be governor for life. Wizkid has always been right about you,” a netizen identified as Mautiin01 wrote.

Wizkidgirlfriend said, “Leave Government face ur flop album ahead 😂😂 we know this strategy.”
