Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has dropped his much-anticipated fifth studio album, 5ive, a 17-track project hailed as a classic and deeply spiritual by fellow artist like Flavour and the General Overseer of The Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, and a musician, Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere well known as Odumeje.

Released on Friday, April 18, 2025, the album features an impressive lineup including Chris Brown, Victoria Monét, Becky G, Odumodublvck, Chike, and Omah Lay, blending Afrobeats with Afro-fusion and reggae influences.
Davido described 5ive as a representation of his growth and connection with diverse cultures worldwide.
“This 5ive? Man, it means me. It’s a statement of where I stand five albums in… This one here shows growth, and where I am now—my life, my artistry,” he said.
The album’s spiritual undertones were highlighted by Flavour, who called it a “classic,” while Odumeje praised its uplifting and soulful energy, underscoring its message of hope and perseverance.

Davido also shared the personal inspiration behind the album, citing family as a key influence, “After the crazy loss we had, God gave us twins—a boy and a girl. Life is just different now… The energy is very important, and that’s what I used to record this album”.
Fans and critics alike have lauded 5ive as possibly Davido’s best work yet, with the album already ranking number one on Apple Music charts.
The project is dedicated to dreamers and go-getters, reinforcing Davido’s role as a leading figure in the global Afrobeats movement.
