Dele Farotimi regains freedom after meeting bail conditions

The human rights lawyer and activis, Dele Farotimi has regained his freedom after meeting bail conditions.

Dailyeconomy gathered that the activist was released on Tuesday morning.

Farotimi according to a source would be in his Lagos home ahead of Christmas.

Confirming his release, politician and activist, Omoyele Sowore wrote on X( formally Twitter) on Tuesday, “I am pleased to report that Dele Farotimi is no longer being held in the prison facilities of Ekiti State and is now returning home to Lagos. The struggle continues!”

Recall that Farotimi was arrested in his Lagos home for allegedly defaming Afe Babalola, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti.

On December 9, Dailyeconomy reported that the Federal High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has granted Farotimi bail in the sum of N50 million with a surety in the like sum.
