Delta Police rescue five abductees, recover ransom

The operatives of Delta State Police Command have rescued five victims who were kidnapped from a church in the Ogwashi-Uku area of Delta State on February 22, 2025.
This was gathered on Friday, in a video on the X (formally Twitter) handle of the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe.
Edafe stated that they also recovered the ransom of N1,300,000 and thirteen expended cartridges.
The operation, led by the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber-Crime Squad, was carried out following the deployment of officers by Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda.
Sharing the video, he wrote, “The deployment to Ogwashi-uku by CP Olufemi Abaniwomda has paid off almost immediately as all five persons kidnapped from the church at Ogwashi-uku on the 22nd February 2025 have all been rescued and a ransom money of #1,300,000, and thirteen expended cartridges were recovered by operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping and cyber-crime squad.”
