Diri hails teachers on World Teachers’ Day 2025

Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has joined the global community in celebrating teachers on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day 2025, commending their sacrifices, dedication, and invaluable contributions to societal growth.
In a post via his official X handle, the governor, who described himself as a teacher at heart, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving teacher welfare and strengthening the education system across the state.
He wrote, “Happy 2025 World Teachers’ Day!
“I celebrate our teachers at all levels on this special day.
“As a teacher myself, I honour your sacrifices, dedication, and commitment to societal advancement.
“In Bayelsa State, our Government of Assured Prosperity is investing in capacity building and the welfare of our teachers. Only recently, we engaged well over 1,000 new teachers to fill knowledge gaps in our schools across the eight Local Government Areas.
“My best wishes to you as always.”
Diri underscored that teachers remain the cornerstone of national development, pledging continued support for initiatives that enhance their professional growth and impact.
