His Royal Majesty Oba Olukosi of Ilukosi-Ijesa, who claimed to be a devoted Christian and descendant of a historical Nigerian leader, has sent a powerful message to President Bola Tinubu, urging calm in the face of perceived threats from American President Donald Trump.

Addressing President Tinubu in a letter shared on Sunday, Oba Olukosi said, “Do not panic or falter in the face of any perceived threats from American President Donald Trump. Such posturing, while bold, often stems from the winds of international politics that shift as quickly as they arise.”

He expressed strong support from Nigeria’s Christian communities, stating, “We, the body of Christ in Nigeria, assure you of our prayers, our solidarity, and our commitment to the stability and progress of our beloved country under your leadership.”

The monarch reminded the international community of the failures of foreign interventions, noting, “Attempts at regime change, wherever pursued by your nation—be it in Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, or Syria—have consistently failed to bring lasting peace or democracy.”

Oba Olukosi emphasised Nigeria’s sovereignty and self-determination, affirming, “Nigeria, with its rich tapestry of cultures and unyielding spirit, will chart its own path, guided by God and the mandate of its citizens.”

He concluded with a prayer for wisdom and unity, “May the Almighty God bless Nigeria, bless America, and grant wisdom to all leaders.”
