Edo Decides: INEC should be accused of violating electoral act, not me — Fintiri

Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, has stated that the Independent National Electoral Commission should be accused of violating the Electoral Act, instead of directing the allegation on him.
Fintiri, who is the chairman of the Edo People Democratic Party National Campaign Council, said this during a press conference on Sunday, at the party’s situation room in Benin City, the Edo State.
Fintiri claimed that the agents of the PDP were denied access to collation centres, raising concerns about the transparency and fairness of the ongoing electoral process.
Fintiri said, “I did not announce, I’m quite aware of the Electoral Act provision, and I did not announce results.
“I only informed the public about the exact figure from our coalition agenda that was ongoing before INEC disrupted the process and moved the coalition to the INEC headquarters, which is also contrary to the Electoral Act provision.
“So INEC should be accused of violating the electoral act, not me because I have not announced any result. I only released figures that were ongoing as at the coalition time that INEC stopped coalition at this sentence.”
