Edun, Cardoso meet to bolster fiscal-monetary coordination

In a significant move to enhance economic stability, the Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, on Friday, met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr Olayemi Cardoso, at the Central Bank of Nigeria headquarters in Abuja.
The meeting according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance aimed to strengthen coordination between fiscal and monetary authorities, align policy frameworks, and boost investor confidence to support sustainable economic growth.
The statement reads, “The Coordinating Minister of the Economy Mr Wale Edun, met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr Olayemi Cardoso, at the Central Bank headquarters in Abuja on Friday to advance ongoing efforts at strengthening coordination between fiscal and monetary authorities.
“The high-level engagement focused on aligning policy frameworks to ensure macroeconomic stability enhance investor confidence, and support sustainable economic growth.”
However, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to collaborative efforts in addressing current economic challenges and advancing President Bola Tinubu’s economic reform agenda.
