Edun meets CBN governor to bolster economic stability

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, convened a high-level strategic meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Olayemi Cardoso.

The meeting which held on Tuesday at the Central Bank of Nigeria Headquarters in Abuja, also included the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr Zacch Adedeji.

According to a statement obtained from the Ministry of Finance, the engagement centered on enhancing collaboration between Nigeria’s monetary and fiscal authorities to “sustain macroeconomic stability, strengthen investor confidence, and unlock private sector growth.”

Edun underscored the importance of this alignment, stating, “Close alignment between fiscal and monetary policy is critical to consolidating President Bola Tinubu’s reform agenda, ensuring inflation is contained, revenues are mobilised efficiently, and credit flows effectively to productive sectors.”
