EFCC apprehends nine suspected fraudsters, recovers car, others in Abuja

The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abuja Zonal Command, have apprehended nine individuals for suspected Internet fraud in the Wuye axis of Abuja.

The statement made available to Dailyeconomy by the anti-graft agency on Tuesday, indicated that the individuals were arrested on Monday, July 29, 2024, in the Wuye area of Abuja for their suspected involvement in internet fraud following investigations.

The post reads in parts, “They were arrested on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Wuye axis of Abuja following credible intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet-related fraud.

“Items recovered from them include 19 phones, one car, four laptops and one iPad.

“The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”

However, EFCC in an operation conducted on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, arrested 13 individuals believed to be engaged in illegal mining in the Asokoro area of Abuja, as reported by Dailyeconomy on Friday, July 26, 2024.
