Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate, have arrested thirty-seven suspected internet fraudsters in Warri, Delta State, and Owerri, Imo State.

The arrests took place on Friday, September 19, 2025, following credible intelligence regarding their illicit activities.

According to the EFCC, the suspects were apprehended “while operating different brands of internet-enabled devices in defrauding their victims.”

Among those targeted was the alleged kingpin, Robert Ebuka Chukwuedo, based on Commissioner Street, Warri, who “took to his heels to evade arrest,” although several of his accomplices were captured at his residence.

The suspects are accused of involvement in cryptocurrency scams, money laundering, and other internet-related crimes.

EFCC officers recovered a range of items from them, including “different brands of exotic cars, smartphones, laptops, and fetish items.”

The EFCC has confirmed that the suspects will be charged to court as investigations continue.
