EFCC arrests Internet fraudster, recovers properties in Adamawa

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Maiduguri Zonal Directorate have arrested an internet fraudster identified as Vincent Markus.
The suspect who according to a statement on Wednesday by EFCC was described suspected serial internet fraudster is a student of the University of Maiduguri. He was apprehended in Badirisa, Damare Ward Girei Local Government, Adamawa State.
His arrest was after the EFCC operative’s credible intelligence showed that he specialised in hacking and other Internet-related activities.
The statement established that “Markus operates using pseudo names on WhatsApp, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and other social media platforms in carrying out his heinous act.
“Items recovered from him include; a three-bedroom flat, Peugeot 206, Toyota Corolla Verso 2009 model, two Toyota Starlets 2012 and 2013 models, air-conditioners, iPhone 14 pro max, Infinix Note 30, freezer, and Hisense TV, amongst others.
“The suspect will be charged in court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
