The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has called on students nationwide to avoid fraudulent practices and act as positive role models for their families, schools, and communities.

Speaking through Assistant Commander of EFCC (ACE1) Chidimma Amanambu during a study tour by students from ACAD System International School, Jikwoyi, Abuja, to the EFCC Academy in Karu on February 25, 2026, Olukoyede emphasised building integrity early.

“Be of good behaviour at all times,” he urged, adding that such habits “strengthen the foundation of a corruption-free society.”

The visit underscored the EFCC’s focus on preventive education and youth engagement as key anti-corruption strategies.

Olukoyede reiterated the agency’s dual approach, “The EFCC remained committed not only to enforcement but also to proactive engagement with young Nigerians.”

He challenged the students, noting they are “tomorrow’s leaders,” to “make responsible choices, shun fraudulent practices and serve as ambassadors of honesty.”

Deputy Commandant of the EFCC Academy, ACE1 Aliyu Yunisa, outlined the Commission’s mandate, which includes “investigation, prevention and prosecution of economic and financial crimes,” alongside collaborations with local and international partners.

Deputy Superintendent of EFCC (DSE) Angel O. Israel warned of the severe consequences of financial crimes, urging students to adopt “integrity, accountability and patriotism.”

He stressed that “national development can only thrive where citizens are committed to ethical conduct and responsible leadership,” positioning youth as “critical stakeholders in building a better Nigeria.”
