The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has dismissed a viral social media claim falsely alleging that popular comedian Sabinus (real name Emmanuel Ejekwu) has been declared wanted over fraudulent activities.

The baseless report, which spread rapidly online, accused the entertainer of involvement in scams and even claimed a ₦2 million bounty had been placed on his head.

EFCC took to its official social media channels to set the record straight, labeling the story “false and misleading” and urging the public to disregard it entirely.

In a pointed disclaimer post featuring an image, the anti-graft agency captioned, “Clout chaser, Stop this now!”

The statement underscores EFCC’s frustration with what it views as deliberate misinformation aimed at gaining attention.

EFCC clarified that no such declaration exists against Sabinus, calling on Nigerians to verify information from official sources before sharing.
