The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has strongly condemned the involvement of a former staff member, Olakunle Alex Folarin, in a matchmaking programme currently running on Lege Miami social media platforms.
EFCC clarified that Folarin, who appeared on the show claiming affiliation with the Commission, was dismissed for certificate forgery.
In an official statement on Monday, the EFCC said, “Folarin was recently dismissed from the Commission for certificate forgery. He was a driver at the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the EFCC.”
The statement further revealed that the EFCC’s Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, has ordered the arrest of Folarin.
This action came after the discovery that Folarin remains in possession of several EFCC properties, including an official Identity Card that he was required to surrender following his dismissal.
The anti-corruption agency underscored the need to dissociate the offender’s post-dismissal activities from the Commission, warning the public accordingly.
“The public is advised against associating Folarin’s post-dismissal conduct with the EFCC,” it noted.
