EFCC detains 36 alleged Internet fraudsters in Port Harcourt

Operatives from the Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended 36 individuals suspected of Internet fraud in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to a statement on Wednesday by EFCC the arrests took place on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, during a coordinated operation across various sites in Port Harcourt, based on reliable intelligence regarding their alleged involvement in online fraud.

Among the items seized were several models of luxury vehicles, a Q-link Motorcycle, and various phones and laptops containing incriminating and fraudulent materials.

“The suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation,” the statement noted.
