EFCC nabs 13 suspected illegal miners in Abuja

The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have apprehended 13 suspected illegal miners in the Asokoro area of Abuja in an operation on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
The EFCC operatives in a statement on Friday, stated that suspects were thwarted and arrested following credible intelligence linking them with the transportation of tons of coal and kaolin in five trucks from Nassarawa State to a site in Kaduna State.
However, the EFCC in the statement confirmed that “The suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.”
Dailyeconomy reported on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, that the Ibadan operatives of EFCC arrested 10 suspected illegal miners with six trucks fully loaded with lithium in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
