EKEDC announces daily power outages, cites TCN maintenance

Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), has announced that residents under its service will experience daily power outages commencing Monday, July 28, 2025, until Thursday, August 21, 2025.

In a statement released on Friday, EKEDC explained that these outages are necessary due to essential maintenance work being conducted by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on the Omotosho-Ikeja West 330kV line.

The daily power cuts will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting various areas in Lagos and other regions within EKEDC’s service network.

Customers can expect intermittent electricity supply and load shedding throughout the Eko Disco network during this period.

“EKEDC has announced a daily planned power outage from Monday, 28 July, to Thursday, 21 August 2025, due to essential maintenance work by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on the Omotosho-Ikeja West 330 kV line.

“The outage will occur between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day, affecting several parts of Lagos and other serviced areas. During this period, residents should expect intermittent electricity supply and load shedding across the Eko Disco network,” the memo stated.
