ES Solid Minerals Development Fund bags PPOM Award
The Executive Secretary and the Chief Executive Officer of the Solid Minerals Development Fund and the Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Development Initiative, Hajiya Fatima Umar Shinkafi, has bagged the (2024 PPOM) Productivity and Proficiency Order of Merit Award in Commemoration of the World Productivity Day.
A statement said the convener, Productivity and Proficiency Projects Nigeria a consortium of public service valuers, Monitoring and Evaluation Agency, led by the Executive Director of the Agency Dr. Olugbenga Balogun, and the National Treasurer of Pensioners in Nigeria (PTAD) Comrade Abiodun Adesina, stated that the Executive Secretary has given an impressive account on her stewardship within the prism of the core values of the SMDF which is: innovation, sustainability, social responsibility, inclusivity and collaboration to deliver on the mandate of the fund.
The public statement further revealed that the first quarter survey of the Agency revealed the Executive Secretary’s, restructuring and synergy initiative that has positioned the fund for optimal success.
Emphatically, the African Finance Corporation deal which is to the tune of about $700bn dollars aid, the AFC and the SMDF duly combining funds to co-develop mining projects to mitigate risks that might prevent major finance and investment in the sector.
The Executive Secretary Hajiya Umar Shinkafi in her response dedicate the recognition to her management team and especially the Hon. Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Dele Alake whom he described as a focused Administrator, who is passionate about the sector and has drawn a strategy-road map that would ultimately open up the sector and make it a foremost national revenue earner in tandem with the renewed hope agenda on economic diversification.
