FAAN announces major upgrades for Lagos airport

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced significant developments at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) after receiving approval from the Federal Executive Council.
The planned upgrades as stated in a statement by FAAN on Saturday include the rehabilitation and expansion of Terminal 1, the airport’s busiest terminal, expansion of Terminal 2 to accommodate more wide-body aircraft along with the enlargement of the finger and apron areas, and the construction of a new road network to improve access and enhance customer experience.
FAAN thereby appealed to stakeholders to remain patient and supportive throughout the implementation of these vital improvements.
FAAN wrote on X, “With the recent approval from the Federal Executive Council, I am glad the MMIA will be receiving major upgrades, which include
“Rehabilitation and expansion of Terminal 1, our busiest terminal.
Expansion of Terminal 2 to allow us to accommodate more wide-body aircraft, expansion of the finger and apron.
A new road network into the airport for better access and improved customer experience.
“We hope that our stakeholders will bear with us and support us on this journey.”
