Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Miller Gajere Dantawaye, has issued a year-end message Thursday, assuring residents and visitors of robust security measures as 2026 approaches.

He noted that the Command has mobilised 2,202 personnel across the FCT under the 2025 festive season operational order.

“This proactive deployment is aimed at ensuring a peaceful, secure, and hitch-free celebration for all residents and visitors,” a release personally signed by the CP stated.

Officers are stationed at places of worship, recreational centers, major highways, motor parks, and public spaces, bolstered by intelligence-led patrols, rapid response squads, and raids on black spots like uncompleted buildings and shanties.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units are sweeping high-traffic areas, with collaboration from other security agencies enhancing coverage.

Fireworks, firecrackers, banga, knock-outs, and similar explosives are strictly prohibited.

“Anyone found in possession or use of these items will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law,” the advisory warned.

CP Dantawaye urged vigilance, calling on the public to report suspicious activities via emergency lines: 08032003913 or 08028940883.
