The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has announced the arrest of six notorious armed robbery suspects linked to a string of violent crimes targeting nightclubs and recreational spots in the capital.

In a statement Sunday, Police Public Relations Officer SP Josephine Adeh detailed the dramatic Friday evening operation.

“FCT POLICE ARREST SIX WANTED ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS,” the statement began, crediting acting intelligence that prompted Commissioner of Police CP Miller G. Dantawaye to order an immediate crackdown.

At around 5:45 p.m. on January 17, DCP Aliyu Abubakar, head of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), unleashed an intelligence-led raid under ACP Victor Godfrey’s Scorpion Squad.

The team stormed the gang’s hideout in Dakwa, Dei-Dei, catching the suspects mid-plot for another attack.

The lineup includes Suleiman Magaji (25), Abdullahi Abubakar (20), Abubakar Shitu (25), Sani Ibrahim (17), Rabiu Dahiru (19), and Ahmen Abdullahi (26).

Investigations tie them to multiple robberies, including a brazen hit at Crystal Lounge in Wuse II, where they stripped a hotel guest of gold jewelry worth ₦15 million—later fenced for just ₦1.2 million.

Raiders seized a black toy gun, local charms, long and short knives, and 42 bags of suspected cannabis sativa.

The suspects remain in custody, awaiting court charges.

CP Dantawaye praised his team’s “professionalism and gallantry” and thanked tipsters, urging residents to stay vigilant.

“Together, we will continue to rid the Federal Capital Territory of criminal elements,” he said, providing emergency lines: 08032003913 and 07057337653.
