FCT police reveal identity of crossdresser found dead on Abuja expressway

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has revealed the identity of an unidentified male corpse found on the Abuja Expressway on August 8, 2024.
Dailyeconomy on August 8, reported that a crossdresser popularly known as Abuja Area Mama was seen lying in a pool of blood with scratches over his body. Reacting to the casualty, the police revealed that the individual was a man fully dressed in female clothing with no means of identification on him and the FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh, has ordered a discreet investigation into the mysterious death of an unidentified male.
However, on Wednesday, the FCT police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, stated in a statement that the police investigations revealed that the then-unidentified deceased is a 33-year-old Ifeanyi Chukwu-Agah Benedict, from Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and he resided at Dapé in Karmo Area of Abuja.
Adeh said, “Sequel to a case of culpable homicide and discovery of an unidentified male corpse earlier mistaken for a female on August 8, 2024.
“The operatives of the FCT Command have begun a discreet investigation as ordered by the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni.
Preliminary investigations revealed the deceased to be one Ifeanyi Chukwu-Agah Benedict, a ’33’ year old man who hails from Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and resides at Dapé in the Karmo Area of Abuja.
“The family of the deceased have also been contacted, as they are aiding the police with the necessary information. Further development will be communicated in due course.”
