FG appoints Segun Omosehin as commissioner for insurance

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of the boards of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and that of the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja on Friday.

According to the statement, the Chairperson of NAICOM is Ms. Halima Kyari, while Mr. Olusegun Omosehin is now the Commissioner for Insurance.

Before his appointment, Omosehin was the Managing Director And Chief Executive Officer, Old Mutual Nigeria Life Assurance Company Limited, as well as the Chairman of the Nigerian Insurers Association.

Mr Olawoye Gam-Ikon was appointed Deputy Commissioner (Technical Operations); and Dr. Usman Ankara Jimada, Deputy Commissioner (Finance & Administration).

Dr Miriam Kene Kachikwu- Member; Mr Adeniyi Olusegun Fabikun- Member; and Mr Umar Khalifa Mohammed- Member.

In the statement, the Chairman of the SEC board is Mr Mairiga Aliyu Katuka; while Mr Emomotimi Agama is the Director-General.

Frana Chukwuogor was appointed Executive Commissioner (Legal and Enforcement), and Mr Bola Ajomale, Executive Commissioner (Operations).

Mrs Samiya Hassan Usman was appointed Executive Commissioner (Corporate Services), while Mr Lekan Belo is now Non-Executive Commissioner; and Mr Kasimu Garba Kurfi- Non-Executive Commissioner.
